Our pricing
Starts fair.
Stays fair.
Most coffee online is priced to be discounted. An inflated number goes on the shelf, half of it comes off, and the sale never ends. We skipped that. Here is exactly what we charge and why, on one page, with the per kilo maths done for you.
The pledge
Five things we will not do
These are not marketing lines. They are constraints we have accepted, and they cost us the easiest growth lever in online retail.
-
No inflated RRPThe price you see is the price we costed. There is no higher number it was cut down from.
-
No permanent saleNo fifty per cent off, no flash weekend, no Black Friday. The price in January is the price in November.
-
No countdown timersNothing on this site expires to rush you. If you want to think about it, think about it.
-
No welcome discountNew customers pay the same as loyal ones. We would rather send you a sample than a coupon.
-
No cheaper rate to startSubscriptions do not open on a teaser price that quietly steps up. One price, for as long as you stay.
The honest bit
How a permanent sale works
Set a price nobody is expected to pay. Cut it in half. Run the sale forever. The customer pays the number you always intended, and slowly learns not to believe you. It works, which is why so much of the category does it.
- 1. Print an RRP that no one pays.
- 2. Take half of it off.
- 3. Add a timer that resets on Monday.
- 4. Do it again next weekend.

Ends tonight. Again.
An illustration of what we do not do. No competitor prices shown.
- 1. Work out what the coffee costs.
- 2. Add a fair margin.
- 3. Put that on the shelf.
- 4. Leave it there.
$52 Per kilo. Every day of the year.
This coffee was not marked up just so we could mark it down.
Every price we charge
The whole list, per kilo included
Coffee is usually sold in sizes that make comparison hard. We have done the division for you, including where the smaller bag is worse value. It is, and we would rather say so than let you work it out at the checkout.
| Coffee | 250g | 1kg | 2kg | 3kg | Subscription |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brazil | $16 | $52 | $98 | $141 | $46 |
| Costa Rica | $16 | $52 | $98 | $141 | $46 |
| Colombia | $16 | $52 | $98 | $141 | $46 |
| Nicaragua | $16 | $52 | $98 | $141 | $46 |
| Vamos | $16 | $52 | $98 | $141 | $46 |
| Pura Vida | $16 | $52 | $98 | $141 | $46 |
| Swiss Water Decaf | $17 | $56 | $106 | $153 | $50 |
| Per kilo | $64/kg | $52/kg | $49/kg | $47/kg | $46/kg |
The 250g bag is the most expensive way to buy our coffee, at $64 per kilo. It exists so you can try something without committing to a kilo, not because it is good value. If you already know what you like, buy the kilo.
Buying more
The only reason a price moves here
Bigger orders cost us less to pack and post, so they cost you less per kilo. That is the whole explanation. It is not a deal, it is arithmetic, and it does not expire.

Where your money goes
What $52 actually pays for
In order of size, largest first. If we are going to claim a price is fair, you should be able to see what sits behind it.
- The green coffeeThe single biggest line. Specialty grade beans bought at a price the producer agreed to, not the lowest we could push it to.
- Roasting and packingSmall batch roasting, then filling, sealing and labelling the bag. Labour and energy, both going up.
- Getting it to youFreight across Australia. This is why one parcel of three kilos costs less per kilo than three parcels of one.
- The bag itselfA resealable, one way valve pouch that keeps the coffee fresh. Cheaper packaging exists and tastes like it.
- Card and platform feesEvery online order pays a cut to a payment processor and a storefront. Unavoidable, so we cost it in rather than pretend it away.
- What we keepThe margin that keeps the lights on. Deliberately thinner than the category standard, which is exactly how we can hold this price without a sale.
We have deliberately not put percentages on this yet. When we do, they will be real numbers we can stand behind, not a pie chart designed to look generous.
Fair questions
The awkward ones, answered
So are you the cheapest coffee in Australia?
No, and we will not pretend to be. You can find cheaper coffee, especially supermarket coffee and especially during somebody else's sale weekend.
What we will say is that over a year, buying from us costs less than buying the same quantity of comparable specialty coffee at its real price. We are not competing on being cheapest. We are competing on the number being honest.
What if a competitor's sale price beats yours this week?
It might. A permanent fifty per cent off can land below our everyday price on any given day, and if the only thing that matters to you is the lowest number this weekend, buy theirs.
We are not going to match it, because matching it would mean playing the same game. The moment we start discounting to compete, the promise on this page is worthless.
Will your prices ever change?
Yes. Green coffee is a commodity and freight is not getting cheaper. If our costs move enough that this price stops being viable, we will change it.
What we will not do is change it quietly, or bounce it up and down to manufacture a sale. If a price goes up we will say so, and we will say why. Existing subscribers get notice before it applies to them.
Isn't the subscription price just a discount?
It is a lower price, so it is a fair challenge. The difference is what it is paid for.
A standing order lets us plan roasting and buy green coffee with more certainty, which genuinely costs us less. You are being paid for the commitment, not rescued from an inflated number. And critically, it does not start low and climb. The subscription price on day one is the subscription price in year three.
Why is the 250g bag such bad value?
Because small bags are genuinely inefficient. The pouch, the label, the filling time and the postage barely change between 250g and a kilo, so those fixed costs land on a quarter of the coffee.
Most brands hide that by pricing small bags attractively and making it up elsewhere. We would rather show you the per kilo figure and let you decide.
Do you do wholesale or cafe pricing?
Yes, on genuinely different terms, because the volumes and the service are different. Get in touch and we will talk properly rather than send you a rate card with a fake discount on it.
We would rather make you smile than make up a sale
Affordable because we choose to be. Not because it is fifty per cent off.
